B&G Industries has launched a new website that will further enhance its ability to advertise its aircraft repair services and to communicate with its customers.
With the new and improved site, the company's management will be able to securely enter the website as an "editor" and update the information on each page just as they would update an office document.
A new section called "News" will contain updates about the company's operations, improvements, and representative customers. Such news updates can be added to the site by managers without any special computer knowledge. "This is about connecting the company's leadership to its potential customers," said Andrew Henley, B&G Industries' principal web designer.
According to Henley, this isn't the first time that the B&G website has undergone major changes. "Three years ago our website looked like something out of the 1990's. In 2008 we put major effort into redeveloping our company's visual identity with a new logo and a new website layout, " Henley said.
"According to Henley, the re-design required several revisions. "When the design was presented to management, they were most concerned about usability. They wanted a customer to instantly see who we are, and know exactly where to click in order to learn about what B&G can do for them. We have done our best to make the site even more informative and easy to use with the new improvements."
The new B&G Industries website is based on the open-source Joomla content management system. More information can be found at Joomla.org.
